Caroline (Klinger) Falewske was born October 5, 1845 at Niederzehren, West Prussia (now Czarne Dolne, Poland).
1880 United States census records show Michael Fawlski (age 43, farmer, born in Prussia) married to Caroline (age 35, born in Prussia). Their children were William (age 13, born in Wisconsin), Augustus (age 11, born in Wisconsin), Charles (age 10, born in Wisconsin), Amelia (age 8, born in Wisconsin), August (age 6, born in Wisconsin), and Lena (age 5, born in Wisconsin). The family resided near Fisher, Minnesota.
1885 Minnesota census records show Michael Falaske (age 48, born in Germany) married to Caroline (age 39, born in Germany). Their children were William (age 18, born in Wisconsin), Gustus (age 16, born in Wisconsin), Charles (age 15, born in Wisconsin), Amelia (age 12, born in Wisconsin), August (age 11, born in Wisconsin), Lena (age 9, born in Wisconsin), Minnie (age 4, born in Minnesota), Henry (age 2, born in Minnesota), and Hattie (age 1, born in Minnesota). The family resided near Fisher, Minnesota.
On June 16, 1887, the date of the Grand Forks/East Grand Forks tornado, Caroline (age 41) and August (age 14) were killed as they took cover in their barn, which was destroyed. This occurred along the southern damage track, which went from Thompson, North Dakota, through Fisher, Minnesota. It is unknown if this was a second tornado or not. Newspaper records show the two were buried near Crookston, Minnesota.
Mrs. Feleweske, who with her son was killed near Fisher, was a daughter of Mrs. Annie Klinger of this city (Crookston). The remains of Mrs. Feleweske and those of her 14 year old son were interred in the cemetery here (Crookston) to-day. (Crookston Weekly Times, Saturday, June 18, 1887, Volume 2, Number 35, Page 3)
1900 United States census records show Michael Flaska (age 62, widowed farmer, born October 1837 in Germany) still living near Fisher, Minnesota. Charles (age 30, born April 1870 in Wisconsin), Amelia (age 28, born May 1872 in Wisconsin), Hattie (age 17, born February 1883 in Minnesota), and Clara (age 14, born February 1886 in Minnesota) were still living with their father.
1910 United States census records show Michael Flaiskey (age 75, widowed farmer, born in Germany) still living near Fisher, Minnesota. His year of immigration to the United States was listed as 1864. Amelia (age 36, born in Wisconsin), Clara (age 24, born in Minnesota) were still living with their father.
Michael Falewske died in Polk County, Minnesota, on December 4, 1921.
